Pure Substance : A single substance (or matter) which can not be separated into other kinds of matter by any physical process is called pure substance.

Pure substances have been classified as elements and compounds.

Element : The simplest form of pure substance which can neither be broken into nor built from simpler substances by ordinary physical and chemical methods is called element.

Elements are further classified into three types (1) Metals ( 2) Non-metals and (3) Metalloids

Constituent Assembly and Making of the Constitution

  1. The Cabinet Mission envisaged the establishment of a Constituent Assembly to frame a Constitution for country. Members of the Constituent Assembly were elected by the Provincial Legislative Assemblies.
  2. Each Province and each Indian State were allotted seats in proportion of its population, roughly in the ratio of one to million. the seats so ascertained were distributed among the main communities in each Province. The main communities recognised were Sikh, Muslim and General.
